Housewarming

This past weekend we had a housewarming, so here are a couple shots of our place before friends came over! I love our place, it's so homey and comfortable ... it's dangerous b/c all I want to do is stay indoors and not do anything. I want to own a small house like this someday and have my little maltipoo running around. It's true what they say about moving from an apartment to a house, you really can't go back.

Afterglow of Alexa Chung for Madewell

I know, I know ... what's up with me blogging so much lately? (yeah, three times in one week is much for me) I promise I'll have my lull again soon enough! I just have to gush about my AC for Madewell purchases ... I can't wait for them to come in!

So if you were a crazy person, like me, following the online inventory of their AC stuff yesterday, it was ridic. Things were flying off the site left and right and of course I was so nervous/stressed/anxious about it because I hadn't snagged what I had been eyeing. Basically, I very willingly jumped through hoops & called all of the NY & Cali stores to get the pieces I wanted ... but since it wasn't being launched until 6pm that night, I had to call back and place an order over the phone at 6pm (at which the phone lines were all tied up). It was a hot mess! AC is too cool and too many people want her stuff.

These are the two things I picked up from her collection (so far!):

Can't get enough of these dots!

Sign me up for those boots too ... and give me $350 to buy them

Some shots of her DIY magazine shoppers got yesterday!

love her.

Camera is back in business!

It's baaaaaack from the shop!

I meant to blog about this on Friday, but this weekend has been busy (Sam's best friend came in town to stay with us) so I'm just now getting around to it! But now that I'm blogging about Friday, I'm wishing it could be here all over again.

On Friday, Sam & I went to an estate sale and flower shopping at a couple different shops. It was so fun to sift through other people's old junk to find something that was special to me. I got a vintage charm piece to go on my long necklace that I'm very happy about. At the plant shops we were basically looking for some nice looking, easy to care for, low maintenance (my favorite kind of maintenance) flowers that will last through the winter to put out on our patio (which I totally love so much!).

Also, here's my newest idea : wouldn't it be fun to open a flower shop?

Old stuff

Mobile Uploads: Favorite Shots from New York

Went to NYC last weekend for the holidays and was reminded just how much I love that place! There's just so much going on all of the time & even though our trip was six days, it still came up short at the end. Oh well, reason to go back, right? We want to go once every year. Anyway, our trip pretty much revolved around what we were going to eat that day, but in between those meals were smatterings of Central Park, Brooklyn, Grand Central Station, Upright Citizens Brigade, friends, drinking, shopping (love you SoHo), and seeing our buddy Aziz Ansari, no big deal. It was a great time and I miss it already.

So I didn't have my camera (and haven't had it for about a month now due to it being in the shop) and this is why I am really big into mobile uploads now (probs a little bit too into it ... I need to learn to detach myself from my phone). I bought a couple disposable cameras and that was that. I like the bad quality type photos it spits out. But can I just say that I was really bummed before the trip that my camera was not fixed in time? and then slowly realized while I was in NY that it's really nice to just enjoy the trip from start to end and not always be worrying about capturing every moment on camera. And, hey I still have these for you:
